What is Pledge Per Touchdown?
- A way to promote a familiar campaign for current and new donors to give philanthropically to the CAF implemented during the 2023 football season, and continued in 2024.
- Similar to the 2019 Pledge Per Win campaign, pledges will be charged for every touchdown scored by the Washington State Cougar Football team throughout the 2024 season.
- Pledges will be charged no matter how the touchdown is scored, who scores the touchdown, or the game the touchdown is scored in.
- Proceeds will go towards the Unleash Excellence Fund.
What counts as a touchdown?
- A touchdown is when Washington State Football scores six points by carrying or passing the ball into the end zone of the opposing side, or by recovering it in the end zone following a fumble or blocked kick.
How do I sign up?
Does it matter who or how the touchdown is scored?
- No. Your pledge will need to be paid regardless of who scores the touchdown, how it is scored, or in the game in which it is scored.
How many touchdowns did the Cougs score last season?
- The cougs scored 44 touchdowns in the 2022 season
- The cougs scored 50 touchdowns in the 2023 season
Will my donation through the Pledge Per Touchdown count towards my season ticket seat donation, requirement, CAF rank, priority, allocation, or membership level?
- Pledge Per Touchdown WILL NOT count toward any seat donation requirement for season tickets. However, Pledge Per Touchdown donations WILL count toward priority allocation, CAF membership level, and CAF rank.
When will I be charged for my pledge?
- Your pledge will be charged to the card on file within three business days (Monday through Friday) after a game, for the number of touchdowns scored. For example, if Washington State Football scores four touchdowns on a Saturday game, the latest your card will be charged will be on the following Wednesday.
Can I upgrade, modify, or opt-out of my pledge during the season?
- Yes. You can upgrade, modify, or opt-out of your pledge anything throughout the season. Please email athletics.caf@wsu.edu to make the appropriate changes.
- In the terms and conditions, it states in order to upgrade, modify, or opt-out of your pledge we must have an email request at least three business days ahead of when you would like the change to go into effect. For example, we must receive the request by Wednesday at 5 p.m. for a Saturday game or a Tuesday at 5 p.m. for a Friday game.
I have opted-out of my pledge during the season. Can I receive a refund for the pledge payments that have already been charged for past touchdowns?
- No. We will not issue refunds for pledge payments that have already been charged.
Will my pledge apply to field goals or other means of scoring?
- No. Your pledge will only be applicable if Washington State Football scores a touchdown, which is when the Cougars score six points by carrying or passing the ball into the end zone of the opposing side, or by recovering it in the end zone following a fumble or blocked kick. No pledges will be paid for field goals, two-point conversions, etc.
Will Pledge Per Touchdown apply to any bowl game?
- Yes. Pledge Per Touchdown will be applied to any touchdowns scored in a bowl game.
Will I receive a reminder ahead of time for each charge?
- No, reminders will be sent ahead of time.
Will I receive a receipt for each charge?
- You will receive an email confirmation for each charge from the CAF or WSU Ticket Office.
How will my donation through Pledge Per Touchdown Campaign be used?
- All proceeds will be used to support the Unleash Excellence Fund and through that, WSU student-athletes. For more information about the Unleash Excellence Fund click here.
I need to change my card information. Who do I contact?
- Please call the Cougar Athletic Fund at (509)335-0220. Please DO NOT send you card information via email.
During checkout I committed to the Double Down for the Apple Cup and Bowl Game. Will the process be any different?
- No. The process will remain the same for doubled pledges.
