What Does Your Scholarship Mean to You?

“My scholarship means I can attend WSU and play soccer at the highest level. Because of scholarship support, my parents’ financial burden is also reduced. Learning more about scholarships has taught me how to use money wisely and appreciate the generosity of others. Every donor to the Cougar Athletic Fund gives me, my teammates, and all student-athletes, the chance to play the sport we love and pursue an education at WSU.” –

My scholarship means everything to me coming as a JUCO and walking on here. I was about to give up my football career until I was given a scholarship. It really means everything to me and it’s the whole reason why I’m here. I just want to say thank you. You are changing lives allowing us to further our education and play the sport that we love.

“Throughout my years at WSU I have been blessed to have received the opportunity to EARN a scholarship. A scholarship isn’t given out to everyone but attained through hard work. When I first received my scholarship, I was grateful and excited because I had a chance to help my parents, as they have been assisting me with financial aid throughout college. With the support of my scholarship, it has allowed me to look pass the financial burden of school and enjoy every wonderful moment I’ve experienced at WSU”

I see a scholarship being an absolute privilege. This is not something everyone gets to have. You need to take advantage of it and really give 110 percent in everything you do.
