Washington State Cougar Athletic Fund

The Soccer Complex underwent renovations prior to 2014 with the installation of overhead lights and a state-of-the-art natural grass field. The field features a custom drainage system, the first of its kind in collegiate soccer. Phase II of the Soccer Complex renovation included, 1,100 permanent seats, gameday locker room, a 3,000 square-foot press box, concession area, restroom facilities and on-site ticketing. 

Impact on WSU Soccer program since renovation:  

  • Earned bid to NCAA College Cup Final Four (2019)
  • Six appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021)
  • A Cougar has been selected by an NWSL team in each of the last four Drafts. In 2020, Morgan Weaver was selected No. 2 overall by the Portland Thorns, followed by Trinity Rodman in 2021 as the second overall pick to the Washington Spirit. In 2022, Elyse Bennett continued the streak, being selected No. 7 to Kansas City Current and Mykiaa Minniss was selected by the Kansas City Current in the third round of the 2023 NWSL Draft.
  • Record crowd of 3,147 attended match against Arkansas State, Aug. 19, 2021.
Soccer Complex
Soccer solidified its standing as one of the nation’s elite programs since its field and stadium were renovated. The program has advanced to the NCAA Tournament five times in the past six years, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2017, second round appearance in 2018, and making WSU history by earning a trip to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament in 2019.
